In their ongoing efforts to support State and Local Maternal and Child Health Programs, the Association of SIDS and Infant Mortality Programs (ASIP) and the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs (AMCHP) are pleased to co-sponsor a series of quarterly webinars to strengthen SUID, SIDS, Infant Safe Sleep and bereavement services across the U.S. These live, interactive webinars are meant to provide participants with consistent, current information, data, resources and tools regarding SUID, SIDS, Infant Safe Sleep, and bereavement.

The third webinar was held on September 16, 2010 from 3:00pm to 4:30pm EST, and featured Brent Ewig, MHS, Director of Public Policy & Government Affairs at AMCHP.

Segment 1: Introduction

Promoting Preconception and Interconception Health Through Improved Insurance Coverage and Benefits.

Expanded health coverage under the reform legislation is expected to have particularly strong effect on those populations most in need of assistance in obtaining MCH services.

This segment includes a brief Q&A with the presenter.


Segment 4: Home Visiting

Optimizing Home Visiting Program Investments in At-Risk Communities.

With $1.5 billion in Title V funds available over 5 years for Home Visiting, many in the MCH community want to know how to access the funds to help carry out their missions with at-risk communities.

Segment 5: Prevention and Public Health Fund

Leveraging Investments from the Prevention and Public Health Fund.

Information and advice on how to tap into the $7 billion appropriated over 5 years for a "Prevention and Public Health Fund," whose purpose is "to provide for an expanded and sustained national investment in prevention and public health programs."
