A message to our larger, human family. Black lives matter. Black culture matters. Black families matter. Black communities matter. These words are more than a blanket statement. As a center, we encourage the difficult conversations in meetings, around dinner tables, and between family members and children that are necessary always – but now more than ever. Each and every person on this earth is precious, and no one should be allowed to infringe on another’s beauty and rights, no matter the color of their skin.
In MCH, and here at NCEMCH, we look for new ways to be inclusive, whether talking about race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, immigration status, criminal justice history, economic status, religion, or belief.
It seems so small in light of the current darkness in the world, but know that our family at NCEMCH is here to make life better for everyone else’s family. It is the basic tenet that drives every resource we develop, every project we embark on, and every decision we make together. We stand with you – each and every one of you – to make this world better for one beautiful family at a time. We are always here to talk, think, and struggle – to figure out ways to ensure equity and justice in all things.
